Welcome to Little Ducklings
Little Ducklings Two Year Old Provision offers flexible places for children from two years of age until they start nursery.
We know all two year olds have a drive ‘to do it myself’ and we believe that our environment should reflect this. We provide a high quality environment rich in resources that promote a culture of joy and discovery.
We also recognise that our two year olds thrive in a peaceful and calm learning environment. We believe the environment should partner the warm, caring relationships essential to children’s emotional well-being.
In Little Ducklings we develop and enhance our environment by establishing different topics throughout the year.
Our topic this half term is… ’Do we love where we live?’
In our first topic the children will be thinking about what they love about their new classroom and outdoor space. I know the bikes and the large field are a firm favourite!
Health & Self Care
In Little Ducklings we support your child to become more independent. The ways we do this include; supporting with all aspects of toilet training, putting on their coat and fastening their zip.
Please can all parents ensure that their child has a bag of spare clothes for any mishaps that may occur when exploring! Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Our children can access our wonderful outdoor learning environment at all times. When the weather gets colder, children will need a warm coat, gloves, and hat. On wet days, children can wear wellies and puddle suits. Please ensure all clothes are clearly labelled.
Water Bottles
Please send your child to school with a clear plastic bottle filled with water each day. Please note that due to dentistry guidelines, bottles must only contain water as regular consumption of juice can cause cavities.
Tapestry
We use ‘Tapestry’ to record observations of your child’s learning. Tapestry is a wonderful way to see your child’s progression throughout the year. Once you have downloaded the app and are set up with log in details, you will be able to see photos and observations of your child in school. You will also be able to upload photos and observations of what your child has been learning at home and any ‘wow moments’ they have. If you are unable to access your account or would like support in how to use it, please feel free to inform the team. We’re happy to help! We look forward to sharing our magical moments from Little Ducklings and seeing what your child has been saying and doing at home too!
