The lunchtime period
Foundation Stage is from 11.30am till 12.20pm.
KS1 is from 12.00am till 12.50pm
KS2 is from 12.20pm till 1.10pm.
During this time the children at school are under the supervision of Mrs Lowe and her team.
If you want your child to eat at school you can pay for a nutritionally balanced school meal, which costs £2.20 for Years 3,4,5 and 6. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive a free school meal every day.
If your child is entitled to FSM, a charge will not occur. Please speak to our Office Management Team.
All payment for school meals are made in advance via ParentPay.
For children in KS2 you may prefer your child to bring a packed lunch. We require two weeks’ notice, in writing, if your child would like to switch from hot lunches to sandwiches or vice versa.
ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.
You will have a secure online account, activated using a unique username and password; you will be prompted to change these, and to keep them safe and secure. These codes are available from the school office team. If you have more than one child at our school, or children at other ParentPay schools, you can ‘Add a child’ onto your original account, meaning you have a single account login for all your children.
Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds a payment history for you to view at a later date; no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you have activated your account you can make online payments straight away.
For further information on ParentPay please see their website - www.parentpay.com or speak to a member of the Admin Team.
If you would like your child to be on Packed lunches, please provide the following:
- A packed lunch box, clearly marked with their name and class.
- A cold drink in an unbreakable container.
We are a Leeds Healthy School therefore please ensure the lunch provided meets your child’s needs. Fizzy drinks, bars of chocolate or sweets are not allowed in lunch boxes.
We are a Nut Free school
Although we recognise that this cannot be guaranteed, Blackgates aims to be a Nut-Free school. The school aims to protect children and staff who have allergies to nuts. We do not allow nuts or nut products in school lunch boxes.
