British Military Martial Arts

We had the luxury of the British Military Martial Arts team who delivered an assembly and delivered workshops for all year groups. The team went through the importance of health and fitness and how martial helps towards this as well as about discipline and confidence. The sessions were interactive, with the children getting involved with techniques and exercises in a safe, controlled and structured manner. The children loved it!

Jim Gump visit

We were lucky for Jim Gump to visit our school. Jim never takes a day’s rest and has almost completed one lap of the equator distance of 25,000 miles without missing a single day of running a minimum of 10K!

The visit comprised of four fun elements…

In preparation of the visit the whole school created home-made race numbers. On the day, Jim himself delivered an energetic and interactive story telling presentation talk about his amazing adventures. He highlighted the benefits, both physical and mental, of daily physical activity. This was followed by an exciting whole school run around the playground. The afternoon was concluded by class question and answer sessions. The children were in awe of his achievements and felt inspired by Jim.

Tennis Road Show KS1

Our KS1 children took part in vibrant, interactive and educational mini tennis classes. The children enjoyed the taster sessions and even earned themselves a certificate for doing so well!

Sport Relief 2020

Blackgates supported Sport Relief 2020 by holding a non-uniform day. Children were invited to wear something sporty! This could have been anything from their school PE kits, tracksuits or their favourite sports team kit. To support such a fantastic cause, we asked that each child donated £1 in exchange for wearing their sporty outfits.

The total amount raised will be revealed shortly!
